Art has saved me time and time again; without it I would be nothing.

Michelle Torres is a 22-year-old Colombian and Costa Rican artist from Rochester, New York. Her practice primarily focuses on figurative self-portraiture. Coming from an immigrant background, her work explores themes of identity, spirituality, and human emotion inherited through culture and real-world experiences.

Painting since she was young, the artist has now stepped into the world of contemporary art through the use of social media, posting and hosting live events where she shows her painting process, as well as creating video diaries for viewers.
